I didn't care if it was a sin, I had to have him...
None of it should have happened the way it did.
I wasn't supposed to fall in love with Jonah.
Everything about it was wrong.
Not only was he my stepbrother, he was also a celibate priest.
I had no right to convince him to break his celibacy, but I couldn't help myself.
Jonah was sweet and muscular, the perfect man for a girl like me.
So what if the church forbade our relationship? The heart wants what the heart wants.
At least that’s what I had to keep telling myself.
I just hoped that God would forgive us.
This full-length novel also includes a bonus novel, "Stepbrother's Gift" by Krista Lakes. I hope you enjoy them both!
Disclaimer: Okay, this review isn't going to be that positive. I want to start off by saying no matter who the author is, if I don't like something, I don't like it. That's my right as a human being. I think it's so freakin awesome that people write books and they get published - more than I can say for myself! However that doesn't mean I'm going to like EVERYTHING.
This book appeared on my Twitter timeline a couple days ago. It immediately peaked my interested since it's two of my favorite things - taboo tales of stepbrothers and priests! It was free for Kindle Unlimited so I added it to my Kindle. From the first chapter I was a little put off by the writing. It's so lengthy in detail. The heroine is kind of annoying - she's very wishy washy and too impressionable. Jonah, her stepbrother goes from playboy to priest like overnight which is odd - like even his parents think it's odd. There's so much unbelievable parts to this story - it's like watching an old school ABC After School Special - it's very goodie two shoes and sweet - to the point of you're almost gagging. This is a world where everything falls into place the exact way it should. There might be a little resistance but in the blink of an eye it's over and things are perfect again. Then you get to the end and it just ENDS! I was so mad! I literally said out loud "Are you kidding me?! It's just OVER?" It's like there's all this unneeded detail during the whole book then boom it's over.
There was an additional stepbrother story included afterwards but I could't bring myself to read it. I was so under-satisfied with this story! So bummed!
If you want a perfect world, super sweet scenario read - by all means get this book! However if you like a little not-so-perfect, naughty romp of a read do not get this book.
