A beast, alone with the horrors of his past, the scar on his face a constant reminder of the man he’s become.
A beauty, on the run with her life in a tailspin, finds herself on his doorstep seeking protection.
Deeply misunderstood and dedicated to his life of brooding solitude, Maxwell Black is hesitant to let Elle McKellan into his home where his hideous secrets hide. But he’s unable to resist the allure of this desperate stranger.
Soon the magnetism between them is undeniable, the temptation unbearable. Elle, reluctant to risk losing her heart to this dark and broken man, struggles against the sexual tension, only to surrender to the combustable heat between them.
When Elle’s life catches up to her and threatens to tear them apart, Maxwell will protect the precious love he’s found by any brutal means necessary.
Black is a sexy, modern spin on the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale and is intended for mature audiences.
*~*My Review *~*
I was lucky enough to be an early reader for Aria Cole. I immediately fell in love with her spin on Beauty and the Beast. When I started following her on Facebook I saw she mentioned Henry Cavill as her muse for Maxwell. I knew right then and there, Aria Cole and I would be an excellent pairing!
Henry is my favorite, we know this, and I can't help but picture him in most of my reads and reading Black was no different. I could just picture him with his hair darker (like it is for Superman) with his lovely scruff and yup, there was my Maxwell Black.
Maxwell Black lives about the library he owns, it's his own personal sanctuary and eternal dungeon too. He's been scarred in life and he's left with what makes him the most happy, books. One rainy night while he's closing up the shop his world comes to a halt when Elle appears at the door. She's dripping wet from the rain and in desperate need of the library assistant job that Maxwell posted. The chemistry between them is instant and Maxwell soon realizes he'll go to any length to protect Elle.
If you're looking for a quick, insta-love, fairy tale inspired read you will love Black! It has just the right amount of erotic love and a hint of suspense too.
